Sitecore Email Cloud – Service update – June 2017

  • Description

    To provide a continually improved email delivery cloud solution, we have made some enhancements to our Email Cloud solution connected with Sitecore Email Experience Manager.

    We are moving towards an architecture that separates major components such as message delivery, reporting, and suppression services into dedicated service tiers. The changes provide performance improvements to suppression list lookup and data reporting.

    As a part of these improvements, some configuration changes are required for all Email Delivery Cloud users within the next few months. Please refer to the following Solution section for details.

  • To keep your Email Cloud setup functional, apply the following changes as soon as possible and at the latest by 01-June-2017.

    On all your Sitecore XP instances utilizing Sitecore Email Cloud service, in the \App_Config\Include\EmailExperience\Sitecore.EDS.Providers.SparkPost.config file:

    • Update the sitecore/exm/eds/smtpSettings/server setting value to
    • Update the sitecore/exm/eds/smtpSettings/userName setting value to sitecore.
    • Update the sitecore/exm/eds/configurationStore/apiUrl setting value to

    Afterwards, ensure that firewall settings are adjusted accordingly to have the 443 and 587 ports open for new endpoints. Refer to the documentation for details.
